Drop In Classes
A schedule of drop in classes will be listed at the beginning of the season.
Through my yoga years of teaching and practicing, I have been drawn to a number of teachers. Over the last six years, my practice has been strongly influenced by John Friend’s system of Anusara Yoga. http://www.anusarayoga.com/ His brilliant system of “Opening The Heart To Grace” through intention, flow and basic alignment principles has enhanced my practice, opened deeper exploration and answered important questions for me about yoga.
In my classes, I combine asana flow, study of alignment principles, breathing and pranayama practice combined with in depth work with of yoga exploration and meditation. For intermediate and advanced students, I look for ways to support the next step for the particular person. Many times, more expereinced students are interested in exploring work with alignment issues, the therapuetic aspects of yoga or particular poses that have been challenging.
In Yelapa, I invite people into to my new home on the mountain to practice. The studio overlooks the bay and is located on the edge of the village. Some students are passing through for a short amount of time and others stay for months.
Some Yoga Vacations may have classes open to students outside the vacation group depending on the desire of the visiting teacher leading the practice. The class schedule and opening for participating in Yoga Vacation classes will be posted at the bottom of the stairs leading up to the yoga studio.
If you would like to contact me ahead of time to check on my schedule or to let me know you are coming, you can reach me: yogabirds2004@yahoo.com . I will keep my eye out for your arrival.
Yelapa offers me the opportunity to meet people from around the world. I have come to relish being part of this world community and sharing yoga and Yelapa with others. One of my pleasures is sharing my life in Yelapa with other yogi’s. I welcome helping you find your way in Yelapa and directing you toward the people and connections that can enhance your visit here.
It’s a beautiful climb up to the studio and so far people have said “it’s worth the climb!” and enjoy getting stronger in both the climb and the practice.
